Hiraeth

A welsh word without a proper direct English translation, meaning a longing or homesickness for a place you cannot return to, or that does not exist.

Natural Gift

One of the five naturally occuring sets of magic that all humans are born with. You are born with one, and only one. They include:

Floramancy

Pyromancy

Hydromancy

Terramancy

Electromancy

They come in different forms, cost mana to use, and are determined by genetics as well as the soul.

If you do not know you have a Gift, you cannot use it. This applies to Unnatural Gifts as well.

Because of their broad scope, they tend to have smaller subdivisions which users can choose to master.

Unnatural Gift

Unnatural Gifts are a secondary power that most people have, that do not obey the rules and restraints of a Natural Gift.

They are limitless in scope, but are harder to understand. There is an ongoing debate on wether or not one is born with one, or if it arises when needed.

Some have gone their entire lives without knowing what theirs is, while others have had a hold on it since birth. Sometimes they pop up in mundane situations- others, saving lives. As with Natural Gifts, they do require Mana to use.

Strength

Shapeshifting

Teleportation

Invisibility

Some Unnatural Gifts can directly interfere with their Natural counterpart, making them difficult if not impossible to use.

Floramancy

A type of magic that takes form in plant life and its related things. The wielder has the ability to create and manipulate plant matter.
